Okay, so I'm lame for waiting until the morning after, but my brain works again now, so it's for the best.

Friday night Requiem was enjoyable - being a part of the Carthian stuff actually felt good - if they'd have been that unified when DC checked them out, his path might well have been different.

I think the timeslot for Mortals actually helped the game - the "creature" certainly wouldn't have worked quite so well in the midday sun, if nothing else! And how do I always get into crazy conversations about stuff that I have idea about?

Saturday was my first game of Forsaken, my first real NPC role, and a whole load of fun to boot. How hard do you think it would be to get a bunch of savage werewolves to kill you? You should try it sometime!

Lost next, and the Carnival. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much, but as soon as the Ringmaster asked me to find a team to oppose the Summer Court death squad, I had a great time creating a team, changing the rules and ensuring a victory.

More Requiem, and was shat upon, ignored and deceived (not all at the same time, of course). I guess I am disappointed to have completely missed the entire plot of the evening because of it all, but the conversation with Susie made up for some of it, even if it'll now probably kill me...

Saturday finished with the best NPC role ever made. My brief: "You're an old man in a coma. Lie over there, go to sleep if you want". I feel strangely cheeky about claiming prestige for that :-) It did mean that I managed to get enough sleep to survive Sunday, because otherwise, I'd probably have wound up with the York all-night crew, and that would have been bad.

Sunday's Lost probably had to be the weak link in the weekend (NB: for me, not in general). A game where the two main themes are "combat" and "social interaction" really doesn't suit Chip. And when the Spring Court disappeared as well, I ran out of people to insult...

Lastly, Mage. Still a young character, but gaining popularity within me. I just wish I could play more often, as with my memory, I sometimes can't remember conversations I've had in the past, considering the last one was 3 months ago.

So, in all, a damn good event, seamlessly put together.

The Scottish has got a lot to live up to!

Selling Books

Just a quick note to say that I'm selling some old RPG books on eBay (username spydacarnage). They are mostly old AD&D and even older OD&D, but there are some oWoD books there, too...

And speaking of birthdays...

I'll be getting older again on August 6th, and as part of my present from Laura, we're going to Sonisphere on August 2nd to see Metallica, which is great!

The other half of the pressie, however, is a free pass to a game of my choice, and I choose Birmingham on August 1st (please somebody from Birmingham confirm that for me!). So, if everyone wants to descend on [info]windzswept's and [info]the_shek's games to help me celebrate, it would be wonderful to say hi.

salsa
So, that's a second week of Salsa class attended. The heat was ridiculous - the air con couldn't keep up, and the floor felt like it had been washed with glue (the class is in a nightclub, so much alcohol is spilt over the weekends).

However, the only toes stepped on have been mine, and I'm getting a whole lot of praise from the instructor due to fact that I'm almost keeping up with people who've been doing it for months.

Last night's comedy moment had to be a double-turn where both partners go under each other's arms in turn, with my partner being about 4' 3". I thought it was salsa, not limbo! :-)

Still, I'm enjoying it, and it's now cemented into my weekly schedule...

Hi all,

My Mum has just deposited a few boxes of stuff from her loft, which means that I've now got a whole load of AD&D 2nd Edition supplements and another box of 3rd Edition stuff (I thought I'd already got all of that).

So, anybody want it (preferably the job lot, but I can be more specific if you need me to be) ?

Apologies to those who do not wish to hear the words of a drunk man who's had the worst day of his life at work...

Hope to resume normal service by intense Bondage (and I do mean the film, not being tied and spanked...)

Copy this sentence into your livejournal if you are, have ever been, or will ever be, in a heterosexual marriage and you don't want it "protected" by the bigots who think that gay marriage hurts it somehow.

No More Drunken Emails

Not that I'm aiming this at anybody in particular (I'm sure you'll wear the cap if it fits), but Gmail have just released a new initiative called "Mail Goggles". Basically, it is a new Labs feature that forces you to answer some simple math questions before it will allow you to send an email late at night, when you might possibly be a little inebriated... Now all we need is something similar on LJ for when certain people go to BiCon :-)

Further details here... )

Well, that was interesting...

Laura dragged me to a sing-a-long showing of Mamma Mia last night. My first thought was "I really hadn't had enough to drink to survive this", but apart from some dreadful singing (and not all of that was from the crowd), it was entertaining. And at least Sophie was cute...
